Cutting Back on Expenses While on Vacation
When planning a vacation, it can be tough to make sure all the expenses will be covered. Generally those taking trips have to budget in cost of travel, lodging, food, and activities, which can really add up. In a struggling economy, it can be tempting to forgo vacation in lieu of saving money. However, this can cause strain in relationships, stress at work without a chance to relax and unwind, and other emotional problems to those who are feeling like they have to go without. There are certainly ways to stick to a budget even while on vacation, and no one should have to skip the family trip.
One great way to save money on lodging is to find an apartment or other type of vacation home in the desired vacation location. This way, even large families can stay in one place without having to reserve multiple rooms at an expensive hotel. It also adds to the time families can spend together, since all will be staying under one roof. There are often vacation rentals available in just about any city across the United States. There are often apartments, condominiums, and houses available, depending on the size and number of bedrooms needed. Some will even offer swimming pools or hot tubs so that guests won’t have to travel far to lounge. Those looking for accommodations in Pennsylvania can find great deals on apartments for rent in Pittsburgh. Another great way to save is to utilize discount airfare websites and look for coupons and additional savings at the attractions that will be visited during the vacation. Theme parks and other similar places usually offer group discounts and extra savings for booking tickets online. No matter what the financial situation, planning a fun and relaxing trip can be a great way to blow off steam and return to work feeling more rejuvenated and excited to be there.

Reconnecting with a Friend By Way of Canada 411

There are certain things that conjure nostalgic thoughts and have me wondering about long lost friends and family members that I have sort of “misplaced” through the years. Phone numbers and addresses change, friendships shift, and sooner or later, you lose someone that you never meant to lose touch with. If there is someone missing from your life that you want to reconnect with at this very minute, then the odds are good that you know exactly how I am feeling right now.
I recently had a positive reconnection experience that I would really like to rave about. What happened is that I started thinking about a friend that I had in grade school, but who I had not seen in many years. I did a little bit of research and found that she had relocated to Canada, which really is not that far away in the grand scheme of things. A basic internet search took me to Canada 411 where I was able to find some basic contact information for her.
I reached out to her and she remembered me. It turns out she had a Facebook profile that I was unable to find on my own, but she directed me to it and we started an internet conversation. Now we are planning to do some hanging out when she is back in town for the holidays. This is so exciting for me; I was convinced I would never see her again, but now we have plans for coffee, and all it took was a little bit of internet sleuthing to reconnect with her again.
If you feel like you have lost touch with someone that means a lot to you, then why not take steps to find them again? You will not be sorry!

In these challenging economic times, dream vacations are tough to come by for those struggling just to make ends meet. However, with a little planning and adjusting of one’s vacation practices, dream vacations can still be a reality.
By following several easy Travel information and Tips, you and your family can find some great things to do that won’t break the family’s bank account.
Try vacationing in the off-season. Many resorts and vacation destinations increase their prices during their peak seasons. When the peak season ends, prices drop as hotels and fun family destinations lower their prices to fill rooms and draw additional customers.
Cut back on your food expenses. If you eat out with a family of five three times a day for a week, chances are your bank account is going to take a big hit. Breakfast and lunch are the easiest meals of the day to provide sustenance without hurting the wallet. A family of five can enjoy some fresh fruit and a bowl of cereal for breakfast for far less than ordering omelet’s and pancakes at a breakfast place. Lunch is another option that can save big chunks of money. A loaf of bread and sandwich meat for the whole family can typically be purchases for the same price it would take to feed just one person at a Wendy’s or Burger King. Always bring a cooler, as water is much cheaper than purchasing sodas for the entire family.
Another helpful hint is to check multiple sources of information before you book a hotel or lodging accommodations. With a little diligence and creativity, that $100/night hotel room can easily be reduced to $50.
By following the above Travel information and Tips, that dream vacation is closer than you think. So start looking now, as the fall months are the perfect time to investigate off-season vacation destinations.

Check the weather before you leave. There are many online weather sites that can easily provide long range forecasts to ensure you know what the weather will be like for the duration of your stay. www.weather.com and www.weather.gov are two sites that can be easily maneuvered to help you determine the types of clothing you will need while on vacation.
Make a list a week before you travel. Sometimes it’s easier to put things down on paper, and then check those items off as they make their respective travel devices. With electronic devices so much a part of our everyday existence, leaving home without your phone charger or camera card is simply inexcusable. By having these items checked, then rechecked you will ensure that you have all the electronic devices you need.
Packing your clothes, less is more! Many airlines are now charging extra for second bags and for bags that weigh more than 50 pounds. Depending on your destination, packing two pairs of shoes instead of five can easily reduce your payload by several pounds. Planning for a laundry stop during your vacation can easily reduce the number of clothes you need to take on vacation.
Pack your toiletries last, but be thorough. Forgetting a toothbrush or deodorant, while not life threatening, is just one more expense you’ll incur while on vacation. Take only the items you need, and anticipate that hotels will likely have soap and shampoo as many airlines do not allow pressurized items like hair-gel on the flight.
Make your list and check it twice to make sure travel forgetfulness doesn’t cut into the fun of your trip.

There is nothing worse than walking into a hotel room and being disappointed. Knowing that you have prepaid for this room and it wasn’t what it was advertised can put a damper on an entire vacation. In these tough economic times, spending a little more could be the difference between a good vacation and a vacation whose memories last a lifetime.
Okay, so you saved money on the red-eye flight, but your family is tired for the next two days because they couldn’t catch up on their sleep. Was it really worth it to book that discounted flight that took away the happy times for the first two days of vacation? It might cost a little more to take the flight that leaves at 8 a.m. and arrives at your vacation destination before dark, but in the long run it’s going to pay off.
While vacation is all about getting out and having fun, maybe doing things you’ve never done before, there is no getting around spending eight to ten hours in the hotel room. A less than superb bed can make sleeping difficult, and being tired can have a trickle down affect to lessening the fun of your time away from work. Spending a little more means getting the accommodations you deserve, and a temporary living space that keep your family happy.
By spending a little more even the amenities of your vacation can be a little better. While relaxing on a sun filled beach, who wouldn’t enjoy a relaxing massage or a skin freshening facial? A room without video-game hookups can make the kids grumpy, a trickle down affect that will surely affect everyone.
By spending just a little bit more, the fun of a vacation can be just what you dreamt it would be with no hidden disappointments.
